Louisiana Leadership Excellence through Administrator Development (LaLEAD)

Overview

La LEAD is a year-long professional development opportunity designed for individuals to explore and enhance their leadership skills and move toward becoming a Teacher Leader. The program, offered through the Louisiana Department of Education, is designed to build leadership capacity of aspiring leaders in the areas of instructional leadership and school improvement. La LEAD also provides candidates with access to highly qualified instructors and site-based mentors who support them through the program. The program consists of participation in a variety of professional development experiences, including

  • Summer Orientation and Leadership Institute
  • Team meetings
  • Site-based experiences
  • Online course work
  • Professional development training

Upon successful completion of the La LEAD program, candidates will earn the Teacher Leader Endorsement certification through the Department of Education’s Division of Teacher Certification and Preparation. For additional information on the La LEAD program, contact lalead@ladoe.org.
