Louisiana Leaders Fellows’ Program
The Louisiana Fellows’ Program is a highly-competitive educational leader program, designed to attract the “best and brightest” Louisiana educators into an Educational Leadership Preparation Program and to ultimately provide Louisiana K-12 schools with bold, innovative leadership for a world-class education system that supports higher achievement for all students, eliminates the achievement gap, and prepares students to be effective citizens in a global marketplace.
This program will provide school districts with funding to provide the very best teacher leaders in the state with Fellowships to become certified as educational leaders (principals, assistant principals, district leaders) for Louisiana’s schools. The second cohort of the Louisiana Leader Fellows’ program will be participating in the program during a thirteen month time period from July 1, 2009 to July 30, 2010. It is expected that the delivery of the program curriculum will utilize interactive technology-based instruction as part of the learning process. The program will be available through two select Louisiana universities state-approved Educational Leader Preparation Programs, Louisiana State University at Shreveport (LSUS) and University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM). Candidates who complete the Louisiana Leader Fellows’ Program through one of the universities will be awarded a Master of Education in Educational Leadership degree upon successful completion of the program.
