{"id":242836,"date":"2022-06-07T13:42:34","date_gmt":"2022-06-07T18:42:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/urbanleaguela.org\/?p=242836"},"modified":"2022-06-07T13:47:51","modified_gmt":"2022-06-07T18:47:51","slug":"urban-league-markle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/urbanleaguela.org\/urban-league-markle\/","title":{"rendered":"Urban League to work with the Markle Foundation to help to millions of workers move into good jobs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today, the Markle Foundation announced it will take its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.markle.org\/alliance\"><u>Rework America Alliance<\/u><\/a> to five new locations to expand the Alliance\u2019s work helping people from low-wage roles move into good jobs that provide livable wages and career growth.<\/p>\n<p>A three-year philanthropic investment from JPMorgan Chase is enabling the Alliance to provide support in five additional cities: Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Philadelphia. Alliance partners, Goodwill Industries International, the National Urban League, and UndiosUS \u2013 together with their regional affiliates \u2013 will lead efforts to support workers in these communities following successful implementations in other regions.<\/p>\n<p>The Urban League of Louisiana is proud to partner with Markle Foundation in this initiative.<\/p>\n<p class=\"nitro-offscreen\">The Alliance will help us to empower our staff of career coaches and workforce counselors by providing data-driven career coaching tools and methodologies that will be tailored to address specific challenges and opportunities affecting Black, Latino, and low-income communities. This will become the basis for developing more robust social capital networks and career coaching peer support resources.
