CAREER AND WORKFORCE FUNDAMENTALS FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Urban League\u2019s Career and Workforce Fundamentals for Professional Development\u00a0 is an attitudinal and workplace readiness course designed to change an individual\u2019s attitude towards authority, culture, and peers, enabling them to succeed in further skills training or education programs as well as the workplace.<\/p>\n

The training is conducted in a work-simulated fashion over a four-week period, Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p. m. Upon successful completion and contingent upon the availability of funding, individuals are connected to Urban League’s Career Pathways Program to further equip them for success with in-demand industry-based skills training that will lead to an industry recognized credential.<\/span><\/p>\n

Desired industry training takes place on the campuses of Urban League training partners, who are connected to the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (Delgado, Nunez, and Baton Rouge Community College, South Louisiana Community College, Northwest Technical Community College, etc.) and other local area training providers.<\/p>\n

Thank you to the program, my wonderful colleagues, and my amazing instructors! I\u2019m a better, more professional, well-groomed, and self-motivated person. This program really lit a fire under me to get up, get out, and chase my dreams. One thing I\u2019ve learned through this program that stuck with me is that YOU are a brand & your name holds a LOT of weight.\u00a0 I\u2019m forever grateful for the opportunity to be a student for the Urban League of Louisiana and this is only the beginning!<\/strong><\/p>\n
